The Sea Vixen will fly as part of the Fly Navy 100 Balbo at RIAT but, regretfully, funds are not available for it to fly a display.

RNAS Yeovilton

Kemble 20/21 June 2009

Matt Whitfield has got his Display Approval for the the Sea Vixen allowing him to fly a full display at air shows. Very few air shows are able to afford the Sea Vixen so don’t pass up opportunities to see this magnificent aircraft put through its paces. At very short notice, Kemble has requested the aircraft and we have been able to respond. G-CVIX will fly in to Kemble at 1600 hrs on Friday, 19 June and display on Saturday and Sunday. This will be Matt’s first public display and we wish him good weather and good luck. Matt will be accompanied Paul Kingsbury for the transit sortie to Kemble.

Display Approval

Lt Cdr Matt Whitfield will be walking for G-CVIX at 0930 hrs at Bournemouth Airport on Wednesday, 10 June. Take-off will be 30 to 40 minutes later. The Sea Vixen will be flown to RNAS Yeovilton where Matt will practice his full display and then present his display for approval at Yeovilton. The aircraft is planned to stay at Yeovilton until the Kemble Airshow on the weekend of 20 June.
